Taunggyi International School is affiliated with the Brainworks-Total Group of Schools and locate in Shan State, Myanmar. Since our founding, Brainworks-Total Group of Schools has expanded to 9 branches with over 3000 very motivated students, and 500 dedicated teachers and staff with ongoing expansion plans. We are an approved “IB World School”.
At Taunggyi International School we hold a philosophy of growth. We dedicate our efforts to the empowerment of our students and to forward thinking, sustainable education. In order for the leaders of tomorrow to succeed we believe they must plan for it, design for it, and sustain it. Our students learn to grow in harmony with the world around them in order to build a healthier future for all.
Our British-based curriculum, which spans from early childhood to upper secondary years, is flexible and tailored to every students’ needs. Our approach is focused on relevance and applicability to local contexts as well as towards the global environment. Innovative teaching methodologies and dynamic learning experiences provide a unique educational setting to students enrolled at our academy. Moreover, our school provides safe, engaging and fun learning experiences to help children develop their social, emotional, spiritual, physical, cultural and academic skills.
We are an independent school that is part of the fastest growing educational institution in all of Myanmar, and a growing influence in the greater South East Asia region. At each and every Brainworks Total branch, we seek to provide the highest standards of quality for our students, teachers, staff, and administrators. At Taunggyi International School we extend our standards to boarding and educational immersion. We ensure that all our students actively engage with the subject matter and use enhanced critical thinking skills to develop confidence and mastery in academics. While students engage in their academic studies, they are encouraged to bring the classroom to the great outdoors and apply their lessons to the natural world. Our instructors attend on-going training courses with top teacher trainers and life coaches from America and Australia while our administrators regularly attend intensive leadership training abroad.
However, if our sole focus were intellectual development alone, we would be neglecting other major areas of growth and learning. In order for our students to grow into responsible local and global citizens we promote community engagement, adoption of progressive 21 st Century standards, and proactive solution-based problem solving. Our classes and activities are holistic and experiential, engaging the mind and body equally and the interconnection between the two. As students learn deeply about the world, they should also learn deeply about themselves. We anchor our education in the development of social skills that is built upon a strong ethical and moral foundation, and balance the intellectual rigor with attention towards emotional needs. We honor and encourage spiritual growth and serve our students learning by strengthening their attitudes and growing their awareness.
As our students become instilled with this commitment and dedication to community, we expect them to go on towards leading forth a brighter Myanmar. Our top-quality standards and international credentials will help them attend the best universities, where we hope and believe they will bring their sustainable and progressive perspectives to better the collegiate environment. We apply the most modern methodologies and technologies in our class, while ensuring that our classrooms retain and reinforce their strong connections to Myanmar customs and traditions. It is our deeply held belief that all individuals have the potential to achieve the same dizzying heights of success, if they are given the opportunity to have effective teaching and training. This is what we endeavor to do at the academy: to make our schools sustainable to be Myanmar-run and to provide the greatest opportunities at affordable rates to people of all backgrounds and dispositions.
